Located
in the heart of historic Old Town Tucson, the 1898 Zellweger Mansion
(known affectionately as "The Z"), invites you to come
and experience true Victorian-era romance. The Z Mansion is available
on a limited basis to groups up to 250 in size for weddings, receptions
and other special events.
Why
"limited"? Because the Z Mansion is still a private
residence. The Thomas Langdon Hill Family, the owners of The Z,
have chosen to make their home available for weddings and events
just a select number of days each month. The Hills have also chosen to make The Z wonderfully affordable.
But seeing is believing. To enjoy your own private tour of The Z Mansion, simply stop by this Wednesday from 3 pm to 6 pm for our weekly Open House and Bridal Fair. There will be free food, wonderful discounts from wedding vendors, and private tours personally provided by members of the Hill family themselves! There is no need to call. Simply stop by and get ready for a wonderful time!

While
the history of The Z is filled with tales of vast wealth and Victorian
riches, the Hill Family has made the cost to rent the mansion
exceptionally affordable. In short, the cost to hold your wedding
and reception at The Z Mansion is less than half the cost of far
less attractive hotels and venues. In
addition, a monthly payment plan can be arranged for those on
a tight budget.
Speaking
of budgets, the Z Mansion was built with an unlimited budget at
the turn of the last century by Judge Charles Wright. At that
time, Queen Victoria ruled England and Tucson millionaires celebrated
their Victorian-era wealth by building extravagant homes along
Church Avenue. No expense was spared. When Judge Wright died in
1901, the Z was sold to the Zellweger family, millionaire cattle
barons, who lived in it for 73 years. In 1974, the mansion was
purchased by multi-millionaire Margaret Carmichael, co-owner of
Secretariat, the Triple Crown winning racehorse. Her estate sold
the Z in 1994 to the heir of the Pinkerton tobacco fortune, Jay
Pinkerton Murray. In 2002, it was purchased by bestselling author,
columnist and entrepreneur Thomas Langdon Hill and his wife Emmeline.
